Arms up, legs straight, chin up, relax and just fall into the wind – that describes the CATALYSE Christmas party as the team ventured to iFLY Perth earlier this week to go indoor skydiving.
On a skydiving experience spectrum our team ranges from ‘not-a-chance’ to ‘I’ve jumped out of a plane twice’, so not surprisingly our nerve and excitement levels were varied.
We were lucky enough to watch experienced indoor skydivers float upside down in the giant wind tunnel before we were trained, kitted out and ready to be lifted off the ground with much less ease and balance. The ‘high fly’ was particularly exhilarating (and dizzying) as the instructor spun each of us at full speed to the very top of the wind shaft and back down.
However, what was most enjoyable about the occasion was watching each other step out of our comfort zone, give it a go and have a super time. We all left with embarrassing photos and big grins on our faces. What a great way to celebrate the year that has been and the year to come!
